MURPHY,,,,, GO AWAY!

Here we are, about an hour from leaving Jojo's and now the water pump will not run.  In other words, we have no water.

We have referred to the Tiffin Allegro Bus owner's manual and have followed all directions.  It is not a relay switch, not fuses, etc.  But it is extremely frustrating.

Right now, we are looking at all the Tiffin literature trying to locate the placement of the water pump.  If not too difficult, John may replace it.

Tired Man Carrying Buckets Of Water Clipart by Dennis CoxWe still plan to leave today.  We will purchase gallons of water for flushing and drinking that will last until we can find a Tiffin Dealer to either purchase a pump or fix our pump.

  2. It's never convenient to lose our conveniences is it? Our pump went once when we were dry camping. I had to drain the fresh water tank into a cooler we carried and drag it into the trailer a few times before we moved on and I got to a dealer. They're not hard to replace IF you can get to it easily. Ours was right under the sink, and accessible. I hope yours is too.

  4. You can but those pumps at any RV or boat store. They are pretty easy to install in they put it someplace reasonable:)

  5. You really didn't want to take a shower or wash dishes did you? It never fails - something always goes wrong just when you want to head out. Good luck.

  7. That's a bummer! Hope all works out. Did anyone have a suggestion on the Tiffin discussion blog? We found our Discovery discussion group a life saver.

  8. Oh no! Murphy isn't our friend either. He seems to hang around way too often. Hopefully, you can send him farther East..... we don't want him this way again.

  9. I replaced our water pump a few years ago, pretty easy job, picked it up at Rv parts store. Then took the old pump apart and fixed it, now I have a spare, and use it to fill our fresh water when dry camping in remote areas, saves moving the coach.

  11. It's annoying for sure but if the problem is the water pump it's one of the less expensive parts to replace.

  13. You should be able to get a new water pump at most any RV dealer or Camping World. They are not Tiffin specific.

Replacing it is very easy, no magical incantations required. Two hoses, two wires, four screws.

Then you can enjoy a nice shower! :c)

  15. That happened to us about 2 years ago while we were dry camping in Carlsbad. A quick trip to Camping World to buy a new SHURflo pump and about an hour of Bills time to install it and we were good again. We were LUCKY as the pump was under our shower pan and easy to get to! I hope yours is easy as well and that you are back to washing dishes, washing clothes, washing bodies by now!! Have a safe trip!! We look forward to reading about some place where it's cooler than here...we can live vicariously.......
