WAITING

We hurried to get the house finished and now I'm waiting, waiting, waiting.  Waiting for the heavy sedation drugs to wear off, waiting for John to be able to breathe on his own, waiting for him to look me in the eyes and be in there, waiting for his smile, to hear his voice and his kind words.

The docs have changed his drug protocol.  They are trying to wean him from the three drug sedation to Precedex.  The Precedex should have less issues with him being so agitated and out of it.  They will again try extubation once the sedation is better.  They can even extubate him while on the Precedex.  This could be as early as today, but most likely tomorrow.  We will see what happens then.

Thank you so much for thinking of John and for your prayers.

God bless you as you travel and enjoy your weekend.

  2. So sorry to read that John is so very sick. You know you have my prayers and hugs. I wish I could be there to sit with you while you wait. I hate waiting. Especially when a loved one is so ill. But know that you are loved and the Lord is in charge.

  3. Nan as I stated before John is in good hands and you can be there for him, but remember to take care of yourself.

When dealing with getting the house cleaned out and ready for the market we forget to stop to breathe and take a moment to relax something our bodies need. The same happens when the ones we love are ill, the caregiver sometimes fails to heed what their own body's are telling them.

Slow the pace just a bit, and hold John's hand so you both feel the love you have for one another. That alone will help you both heal.

    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  5. There is nothing I can say except that I 'm waiting with you. I check for your posts frequently, and keep hoping for good news.

We are not strangers out here in blogland. We are caring friends.

I'm sure one of your burdens is a feeling of helplessness. The doctors are doing all they can, John has to heal, all you can do is wait.
